As humans we very rarely, if ever, take a step back from the rapid pace of modern existence to appreciate the natural world that surrounds us. This video from the BBC One program Life, narrated by David Attenborough, switches the perspective to that of the plants, compressing the slow and leisurely growth of six months into 60 seconds of time lapse film—96 layers, 15 tracks, and two years, culminating in one of the most technically complex shots ever attempted in natural history filmmaking.
